Things that make you go Hmmmm.....

One of the best parts of being a parent are the random things that come out of your kids mouths.  We have documented many of these online, so I figure it wouldn't hurt to add a few more.

Example #1.  Ella comes bounding down the stairs.  With a blanket over her head.  This kid can hardly walk down the hall without tripping over her own two feet.  I tell her:

"El, don't walk down the stairs with a blanket over your head, you could hurt yourself"

Ella: "It's OK mom, I was doing lateral movements."

Example #2.  (this one made it to facebook, but is worth putting on blogger too)  I am making a PB&J sandwich for her lunch, and she says that it is missing a "crunch".  (Perhaps we watch too much Chopped?) I get out rice krispies, and proceed to make a smiley faced girl out of rice krispies on one side of the bread.  Ella gets in on the action and tells me she is making a sad face boy on the other side. I ask her why he is sad.  She replies, "He got kicked in the balls."

Example #3.  As mentioned before, we traveled to Phili for a wedding.  The wedding took place in a Catholic church, and on the following Sunday, much of my family was getting ready to go to church.

Ella: "Mom, are we going to church too?"
Me: "No, not today."
Ella: "Well, do we have to go back to that church where the man wears a dress?"
Me: (chuckling) "No."
Ella: "Ok, cause that was really weird."

I guess that it is normal to say it like it is at the ripe old age of 4.  And for the record, after further probing, I discovered that she has no idea what "balls" are.  Just a reminder that they are always, ALWAYS listening.

Brooks is pretty funny too, but all he says is Uh-oh.  I'm trying to figure out how to lock up the trash can, cause he won't leave that dang thing alone!!

I still laughed just as hard hearing the "he got kicked in the balls" story again--that is hilarious! All those stories are hilarious, in fact! Ella is awesome!

Out of the mouths of babe's. . .You could remind Ella that Jesus wore a "dress". I guess it continues on in our church since it started back then.
