Living Social

Sorry for the lack of blog as of late....but we have just been so busy!  Have I mentioned before how amazingly lucky we are that we chose to move here, and come into contact with the most amazing people?!   Here are a couple of examples of what I mean...

*Recently I noticed a gasoline smell coming from our car when I drove it.  I tried to ignore it (because car repairs are soooo dang expensive), but it just got worse.  I made a good friend down here who's husband was a helicopter mechanic in the military (He now works for the department of Homeland Security) and he told me to bring it by.  He found the problem, drove AN HOUR to pick up the part to fix it, and then refused (and I tried my hardest) to take any money from me.  Not even money for the part!  I tearfully told them how grateful I was, and I still can't believe how blessed I am for so many kind people looking out for me and my family.

*We were invited to attend Thanksgiving dinner with some friends, and their family, and it was DELICIOUS!!  I WISH I had brought my camera to take a picture of the spread, because it was amazing!  Southerners certainly know how to do T-Day right!  I have never particularly liked Thanksgiving food, but I LOVED this meal!!!

*Ella is averaging a birthday party just about every weekend, and while it may break our bank... she is loving having so many little friends.  And I love that she finally has some stability in her life...I feel like maybe Ross won't screw her up after all!

*Bryce and I went bowling with 8 other couples our age, and we had such a good time!!  It was our first time going out without our children, and it felt good!  Our new friends are such a blast to be around, and everyone has been so nice and welcoming to us.

It really does make it easy to dream of making this our home forever.  I don't know if I will ever want to leave.  I recently read on some of our friends blogs that they haven't been so lucky in scheduling their rotations with Ross, and I am truly so grateful that it worked out for us.

How wonderful to read that you have adjusted so well to your new home and are making friends and having fun! I am so happy for you and Bryce (getting his rotations) and Ella and Brooks having fun with new friends. It's hard being away from home and family, but it sounds like you have settled in and made a new home.

love and hugs and missing you,
Grandma Mutch and Hank

I am so happy that you all have such wonderful friends. When a generous kindness is done for you accept it and then down the road pay it forward. Southern people are really nice. I was raised by two wonderful southern people!

I am so happy you guys are loving it there! And isn't it all of our fears that Ross will screw our kids up for life? Seems like they are all doing just fine, though. :) I think going through the whole Ross experience makes us all so much more appreciative of when things go right, don't you think?
