We had a wonderful Christmas, and we hope you did too! Christmas Eve was mostly spent relaxing and tidying up the house. We went for a special dinner at Macaroni Grill, then came home and bathed the kids and put them to bed. We waited an hour, to make sure they were asleep....and they were not. Well, one was, and the other was not. I'll let you guess who was not. After that little stink was fast asleep, we brought out all the gifts from their hiding places and made two neat piles. Luckily, Santa's elf...aka Bryce, only had a single toy to assemble. A wheelbarrow for the boy. I had been slowly wrapping things all week, and I'm happy to say that on Christmas Eve, I only had 2 things left to wrap! After filling the stockings and watching the first showing of 'A Christmas Story' on TBS, we went to bed.
Christmas morning was very fun this year. Ella is at that wonderful age were Christmas magic is alive, and Santa is real. I'm already dreading the day that some dumb kid at school tells her otherwise. Our kids were so spoiled this year by their grandparents, and our other friends. They played with their new toys, our front room looking like our Christmas tree threw up all over the place. I made Eggs Benedict for breakfast, and then we played some more. We got ready, and went to church, and then came home and talked to our families on Skype. Then Bryce grilled some bacon wrapped sirloins, and I prepared the rest of the side dishes. Ella ate an entire 6 oz steak before i had even buttered my rolls. It has been quite a while since we have had steak....think 6 months... It was a great dinner. And it was fun to begin our own traditions. We missed being with family, but were content with spending the entire day with just each other.
